For the Comma 3X and newer models, the device can be powered directly through the car's harness. Because of this, OBD power is no longer needed for a standard setup.
You should only use OBD power if you are a frequent short-trip driver and want to keep your Comma device powered on even when the car is turned off. Please be aware that because OBD power draws continuously, it can drain your car's battery if the vehicle is not driven frequently on a daily basis.
